The Movement of Eyes with Music

Abstract

The pupils of the eyes work in tandem with the body’s sensory systems to process information. Specific musical events, such as changes in tempo, rhythm, or melody, enhance sensory activity and cause the pupils to adjust in size. These changes align with the rhythm of the music, moving in sync with the beat over time. This synchronization suggests that the pupils do not merely react to the music but also anticipate when the next beat will occur. By analyzing how the pupils respond to different musical aspects, such as rhythm, pitch, or dynamics, one can identify which elements trigger sensory reactions. Comparing these responses across various musical features offers insights into a listener's unique experience with music.
