About the Journal

Spectrum aims to shine a spotlight on short stories, poetry, essays, and think pieces that push boundaries or give viewpoints from communities that are less likely to find their words in print. The editors are dedicated to finding "own voices" content to publish and highlight in an effort to draw attention to the works of a wide range of students. Spectrum is a journal based in showcasing the views of everyone. Spectrum welcomes submissions from all students, but focuses specifically on ideas and interests aligned with those of McMaster's English and Cultural Studies Department. We maintain the right to decline any and all pieces that contain hate speech of any kind.
