Abstract

This visual representation provides a comprehensive overview of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects the motor neurons in the brain and the spinal cord. ALS is a complex disorder with no known cure, and its symptoms and progression can vary widely from person to person. The aim of this visual aid is to increase awareness about ALS by presenting information on its symptoms, clinical manifestations, diagnoses and available treatments. The illustration in Figure 1 graphically portrays the gradual deterioration of nerve and muscle function in ALS patients. In addition to presenting information on the causes and management of ALS, the infographic also highlights ongoing research efforts towards finding effective treatments and ultimately a cure for this debilitating disease. The purpose of this infographic is to emphasize the importance of educating the general public and promoting a greater understanding of ALS in order to reduce stigma and facilitate the development of better resources and support systems for those affected by the disease.
