Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission is formatted using the proper template (see below for link)
  • The submission contains no identifying features (names and affiilations of authors, names in acknowledgments)
  • The authorship form is emailed to (see below for link)
  • A summary of research significance is emailed to (max 100 words)

Author Guidelines

The iScientist accepts the following types of submissions: Research Articles, Review Articles, History of Science Articles, and Letters to The iScientist. Research articles report current, original research performed by the author(s). Review articles provide a summary of recent and current research in a particular field. Letters to The iScientist are brief reviews about current developments in interdisciplinary science. Letters should be brief. Letters are meant to be less formal than Research or Review Articles. Authors are permitted to provide their opinion on current developments in science or science policy given these opinions are backed by fact. Please contact us if you are unsure of whether your submission would be appropriate as a Letter. Further details are available in the Guidelines.
