Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • A consent form, signed by your Principal Investigator/Instructor, have been provided alongside the manuscript.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed (https://journals.sfu.ca/jmde/index.php/jmde_1/blind_review_guidelines).

Author Guidelines

The following are general steps for submitting entries to the website: 

  1. Register/login to the Kinthesis OJS website. 
  2. Hover on your username at the top-right of the webpage and select "View Profile".
  3. While in the Submissions page, select "New Submission".
  4. In "2. Upload Submission", please remember to upload two files: (A) your actual submission, labelled as Article Text, and (B) the consent form signed by your professor/PI, labelled a Supplementary/Consent Form.
  5. Once complete, an email notification will be sent to confirm the submission. Your upload should appear in the Submissions tab, with a summary of the editorial progress. Interactions with the editorial team will also be done through this page. 

Articles

Download the required PI/Instructor Consent Form [here] and upload it a signed copy as a separate file alongside your manuscript. Submissions without this form will be automatically rejected.
 
Below are downloadable links to the submission guidelines and formatting templates for each article type featured in The Kinthesis. Submissions that do not adhere to these guidelines will be returned for revision.
