Using Soil Reflectance for Moisture Sensing in Precision Agriculture
Résumé
Agriculture plays a huge role in the way society sustains itself; there is an increase in demand for effcient farming and resource management. Using methods of precision agriculture can allow for optimal produce and water usage. The following paper will explore the various methods of obtaining this soil information and review the viability of a re ectance based moisture sensor compared to these devices. The prototype of the refectance-based moisture sensor was developed using sand instead of soil. This offered more consistency than soil would when performing the experiments to create a proof-of-concept for the device.
