The 3D Computer Mouse
High Accuracy and Low Cost Tabletop 3D Tracking System
Résumé
This paper attempts to demonstrate the design, construction, and testing of a simple, low priced system that can track a pen in free space within a 150 mm cube of space with an accuracy of 1 mm without making the pen difficult to operate normally. The system is designed to be assembled for less than $200 CAD and can have applications in anything from hobby robotics to VR and digital art and sculpting.
