Abstract

The post-graduate application cycle is filled with stress, doubt, and financial strain for many students. This sentiment is further amplified amongst first-generation communities due to various cultural, socioeconomic, and systemic disparities. The purpose of this piece is to critically reflect on the experiences of first-generation students as they embark on their respective post-graduate journeys. This narrative discusses themes of finances, mental health and opportunities with the hope to acknowledge these barriers and foster transparency between students and educational institutions.
